Inspector Shipping

Kennametal is seeing an experienced Inspector for its Bedford, PA plant.


  • Perform pre-operation checks for machines. Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment (rinder, blaster)
  • Move castings to and from work station
  • Inspect finished castings visually and with use of gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc
  • Clean castings by use of steel shot roto-blaster
  • Paint castings by use of spray gun, paint booth, and paint bath
  • Assemble castings/match castings as required
  • Pack castings in containers for shipment assuring counts and identification labels are correct, using counting scales and labeling machines
  • Prepares finished products for shipment, including pulling from inventory, packing, maintaining records and loading onto truck Regulates inventory and maintains proper stock levels
  • Receives, inventories and issues incoming freight, raw materials, and semi-finished products
  • Operates a forklift, stapling machine, shrink wrap, scale and strapper
  • Moves stock into truck and moves material from workstation to workstation
  • Communicates with Latrobe/Bedford Customer Service Department personnel to coordinate shipments
  • Responsible for tracking and problem solving of the materials used to reduce cost
  • Responsible for management of WIP and components (i. e. forgings, machine finished product, semi product)
  • Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties


This position requires: (1) A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (2) completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gage reading training (3) a forklift operators license; (4) the ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and co-workers; (5) Minimum of 3 years Castings experience; and (6) Computer experience required (SAP preferred)

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
