DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Designated protective service worker in Bedford County, be on-call to receive and investigate protective service referrals as they come in. Follow regulations of the Older Adult Protective Service Act, work with courts, law enforcement and others during investigation. Testify in court on behalf of older person as requested. May assist with performing duties related to guardianship consumers/PoA individuals. Maintain updated information in State database. Follow all directives of local AAA, State and Federal mandates. May assist with office I&R with completing various applications (PACE, Property Tax & Rent Rebates, etc.). Complete monthly reports, attend trainings as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:

+ Minimum Experience and TrainingRequirements: One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor;ORthree years of experience in public or private social work, including one year of direct aging care management experience and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 semester hours credit in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences; ORtwo years of experience in public or private social work including one year of direct aging program experience and a bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; ORany equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college-level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.
+ Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Bedford County. If no eligible candidates who live with Bedford County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
