Clerical

Clerk Typist 2 - Full time with excellent benefits. Monday - Friday.
Organize and type memos, letters, discharges, initial evaluations, reports, etc. from dictated sources, handwritten drafts, or original source documents into draft or final form. Proofreads material for completeness and grammatical errors. Close discharged consumers in Consumer Management.
Type doctor's psychiatric evaluation and medication notes, secure signatures and file in consumer files. Proofreads typing to insure information is grammatically correct, complete, consistent, and adheres to agency rules and regulations.
Facilitate doctor's work days on Monday through Friday. Schedule new appointments, handles cancellations and reschedules appointments. Pulls and checks files of consumers for signed current consent forms and signed current treatment plans to be seen that day. If updated treatment plans are needed, inform staff. Make referrals to CSU or other areas of agency as needed, escort consumers to financial clerk, prepare files for letters to be mailed to PCP, etc. Assist with duties for other psychiatrist as needed.
Answer phone for Clinical Director, therapists, and direct calls to appropriate staff or take messages. Make reminder calls each day for clinical appointments and doctor's consumers. Take phone calls to cancel or reschedule appointments. Screen calls and determine when to report problems to doctor.
File correspondence, reports, etc. for Clinical Service Unit consumers. Maintain forms used by all MH departments, determine supply need, and prepare purchase requests to replenish supply as needed. Maintain a stock of basic supplies for co-workers' convenience. Make copies for CSU and other departments when needed. Route treatment plans for required signatures, review to ensure treatment plans are signed, then file in consumer's clinical chart.
Complete discharge summaries for doctors' patients accordance with MCO regulations. Close discharged consumers in Consumer Management.
Back-up receptionist as needed. Answer telephone calls and re-direct calls to appropriate department. Provide back-up coverage for other medical secretaries on an as needed basis. Assist other medical secretaries with related duties.
Contact drug reps for supply of sample medications. Hand out pre-written prescriptions and file the signed medication log sheet in client's chart. Contact pharmacies to check on remaining refills and date of last refill and report the findings to the nurse or doctor as needed. Review work for adherence to agency standards.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
